Cofina Financial is a cooperative serving cooperatives across the CHS, INC and Land O'Lakes trade area. Cofina Financial was formed in 1938 to provide financing to producer and consumer cooperatives as an alternate to traditional sources of funding. Cofina Financial is organized as a separate cooperative from CHS, INC and Land O'Lakes Ag Services, yet has many of the same customers and goals.
Cofina Financial is owned by those it serves. The seven-member Board of Directors is elected by the member-borrowers at the Annual Meeting. Cofina Financial loan committee, made up of three members, has the ultimate responsibility of loan approval. Loan analysis and recommendations are made by the loan officers who work closely with local cooperative Boards, management, and CHS, INC and Land O'Lakes Ag Services staff.
Cofina Financial is committed to providing both seasonal and term financing to cooperatives that will enhance their growth and financial condition. This is done by ..1) providing sound financial advice; 2) assuring the continued availability of the lowest cost credit; and 3) maintaining an adequate stock retirement program.
